Ashlyn Alves, ALC
Ashlyn Alves is an Associate Licensed Counselor who completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Millsaps College in 2019. She then pursued her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The University of West Alabama, graduating in 2023.
Ashlyn works with individuals presenting with a wide range of symptoms including anxiety and depression, negative self-worth, anger management, grief, PTSD, and relational and family issues.
Ashlyn's counseling philosophy is person-centered, focusing on individuals' abilities to create their own change through non-judgmental and self-affirming practices. She utilizes a wide range of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Ashlyn believes that anyone who is willing to be honest and open-minded within therapy is already enacting change within their lives and her goal as a counselor is to help individuals realize their greatest potential and achieve their goals. She is practicing under the supervision of Holly Durhan, LPC-S.
