Courtney A. Dunn, M.S, LPC, NCC
Courtney Dunn is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. Courtney finds joy in helping individuals achieve their mental health goals. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama.
Courtney’s approach to counseling is directive, and she strives to lead individuals to optimism and encourage the focus on present circumstances rather than letting the past experiences define the future by listening to the ways people experience their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. She uses techniques, such as, effective coping strategies, mindfulness, creative and physical activities, assistance in achieving overall happiness and increasing self-esteem. Courtney works with children, adolescents and young adults who may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD and OCD.
Courtney seeks to help all individuals achieve their mental health goals and is an active listener who emphasizes the therapeutic relationship in counseling. To her, it is the most rewarding to lead clients to growth, confidence, and overall increased well-being. Courtney provides a judgement-free environment to ensure a safe space for all individuals.
